Buyer Information

Buying a home is an exciting time and there are many details to consider throughout the closing process. Do you need Title Insurance? Should you ask for a survey even if the lender doesn't require one? Do you fully understand the terms of your loan? Throughout the entire closing process, our job is to provide you with information to educate you about the transaction so that you can make the best decisions possible.

Utilizing over 28 years experience in closing property transactions, my office educates you as a buyer as you move through the closing process. Buying a home is often a process which may seem streamlined, and the buyer follows the progress as it unfolds before them. I know however, that every closing is different, and there are many times when additional steps are necessary in the closing process. I have developed policies, informational forms, checklists and proofing registers to allow for early detection of potential closing issues. I have trained my assistants to listen carefully to anticipate or look for ways in which we can use our knowledge to educate the buyer and prepare the buyer for the closing process.

Earlier in my practice I often detected at closing when talking with a client how I could have used my knowledge to alter the course of a closing had I had certain facts in advance. Immediately after the closing and often during the closing, I would leave to make notes on how I could obtain this information earlier and allow the client to take advantage of my knowledge in advance of the closing. I added items to our automated checklist, created email templates, updated policies and added to my assistant training session. I still do this today. I literally have questions placed in a certain order or on a certain page as I have learned its location determines its effectiveness to the client and our office. I have worked consistently throughout my career to be that person in the closing process who looks at the entire process and not what is right before me.
